Since it was approved by the Spanish Law on Assisted Reproduction Clínica Tambre has been certified as an authorised clinic for egg vitrification. Since then we’ve built a vitrified egg Bank with eggs from donors of all races and phenotypes.
Our donors are young women (under the age of 30) who have undergone a complete physical and psychological evaluation before being accepted into the donor programme.
The evaluation is carried out in accordance with the regulation on assisted reproduction in force at the time of the evaluation (currently Law 14/2006 and Royal Decree 1301/2006) in order to avoid the possible transmission of both infectious and hereditary diseases.
What tests will donors undergo?
Eggs are vitrified using the Cryotop method and Kitazato materials which, according to bibliographical evidence, produce the highest survival rates of around 80-90%.
When requesting eggs, the requesting clinic will provide basic information on the patient or recipient patients if it is a multiple request: phenotypic traits (race, hair colour, eye colour, weight and size), blood type, and Rh.
Upon shipment, Clínica Tambre will provide the donor’s basic information: phenotype traits (race, hair colour, eye colour, weight and size), blood type, and Rh as well as a document certifying that the test results are normal.
Each request guarantees a minimum of 6 vitrified eggs based on the number of eggs retrieved from the donor. Each straw may contain between one and three eggs.
In addition to the straws housing the eggs, each batch contains its respective information: phenotypic traits of the donor, ID number, and freezing characteristics (materials, number of eggs and their distribution).
Shipments are delivered by an international authorised shipping company that specialises in shipping biological samples for assisted reproduction clinics which ensures that the eggs can be tracked at any moment. Samples arrive at their destination within a maximum of 1-2 days.
Clínica Tambre assumes the obligation to treat any patient information it holds in strict compliance with the current legislation on Data Protection and for the sole purpose of complying with obligations that are contractually required of it by its patients and to properly address their complaints and claims. Therefore, both parties undertake to comply with the duty of confidentiality contained especially in the Spanish Organic Law 15/1999 on Personal Data Protection.
